Guangxi Nanning Wuxu International Airport

Project Overview

Nanning Wuxu International Airport is located in Wuxu Town, Jiangnan District, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, approximately 27.8 kilometers in a straight line from the city center. It is a 4E-class airport serving both military and civilian purposes, making it Guangxi's largest aviation hub, one of China's major airports handling over 10 million passengers annually, and a key international gateway airport oriented toward ASEAN. Additionally, it serves as a Class-1 air port open to foreign trade and functions as an alternate landing airport for international flights. Nanning Wuxu International Airport officially opened to traffic in November 1962, having been relocated from the original Nanning Airport in 1958. The first phase of its expansion project was completed in 1990, followed by the second phase on September 25, 2014. In 2019, the airport initiated renovations and expansions of Terminal T1, along with runway extensions at Terminal T2. On March 19, 2020, the airport received approval to construct a second runway and expand Terminal T3.
