Jiangsu Wuxi New District Outlet Mall Factory No. 2

Project Overview

Outlets, in English, literally means "exit, way out, or discharge point." In the retail industry, it specifically refers to shopping centers composed of stores that sell discontinued, overstocked, or out-of-season items from renowned brands—hence the alternative term "brand-name direct-sales shopping centers."

Outlets first emerged in the United States and have since grown to nearly a century of history. Initially, outlets were simply "factory outlet stores," specializing in selling off leftover factory inventory. Over time, they began attracting more brands, gradually evolving into large-scale outlet shopping centers resembling traditional Shopping Malls—and eventually developing into a distinct retail format of their own. Although this type of Factory Outlet has been around in the U.S. for nearly 100 years, its truly significant growth only took off around the 1970s.
